New Indie Vision Music Tshirts / Site Relaunch

Indie Vision Music is now officially 16 years old. I founded the site on July 4th 2000 as an independent online music store, sharing music from independent Christian artists/bands. A lot has changed in 16 years but one thing remains the same: PASSION. So with this renewed passion and burning desire to share hopeful music with a whole new generation, I am aiming to re-launch the Indie Vision Music site at www.indievisionmusic.com The site should be live and ready to go in a few weeks.

To help celebrate this anniversary milestone and the re-launch in general, I have had 3 newly designed tshirts created by Brian Morgante at Flesh and Bone Design. They are all posted for sale at just $16 each! That’s right, 3 new designs, 3 colors each, sizes small-xxxl. There is even a woman’s tshirt (Circle Logo Design, click the pull down menu to see it). Help re-launch the Indie Vision Music and get the promotional hype train rolling.

In addition to the new merch, I have posted up all the old Indie Vision Music compilations that were offered through our website in the past. Check all those out for FREE right now on the IVM bandcamp.

What will you see on the new IVM site? Well for one, the focus will primarily be on music news. We will have some writers joining us that will contribute a variety of reviews and other writings. We may do a few interviews as well.

So get ready to join with me in taking back the music scene one step at a time. Embrace the music, embrace the passion.

“Lost” Dismissed Footage From Sonshine Festival 2003

As you all know by now, Indie Vision Music.com has met it’s end after 15 years of operations. In honor of this passing, I thought it was fitting to go out with some lost footage of the band Dismissed performing LIVE at Sonshine Festival back in 2003. This was filmed by a friend and longtime supporter of IVM named Matt B. Check out the video below and make sure to download all the old IVM related releases for FREE right here. New Sounds: Brookhurst

A new band has arisen. That band with their heavy punk leaning sound has come out strong with their debut “Self Titled” full length. The band is called Brookhurst and would be recommended to fans of Over It, Much the Same, Craig’s Brother, Slick Shoes, and Inspection 12. The group actually features members of Craig’s Brother, Hey Mike, Goodbye Valentine. They are from Los Angeles and hold true to that sunny California punk sound so many bands aim to create. If you’re searching for the next punk rock band to call yourself a fan of, look no further than Brookhurst. Listen to the album below and pick it up wherever fine digital music is sold (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Bandcamp).

Five Iron Frenzy – So Far

Song Premiere: November 17th (A Common Goal)

acommongoalI am very excited to announce that I will be premiering a brand new song from Boston, MA. punk rockers,  A Common Goal taken from their upcoming “Split Decision” co-release with fellow punk band, False Idle. The song is a cover of False Idle’s “Where Do We Go” and will stream right here at Freedom Like a Song beginning on the morning of November 17th. The split release will go up for pre-order soon via Thumper Punk Records.

New Sounds: Fire The Sun

firethesunA new recommendation for today, October 30th is the Southern California melodic hardcore punk band, Fire The Sun. The Ventura, CA. band just released their debut independent full length “An Evolution in the Creation of a New Self Being” via NoiseTrade that you can check out and download for FREE below. The album has that perfect combination of harsh, aggressive, hardcore tone mixed with melodic, fast and furious punk beats. It’s rough and raw yet great production for an independent band via Paul Miner (Thrice, Atreyu, New Found Glory, Throwdown, Death By Stereo, etc). Their sound takes on variance all it’s own and straddles the line between both punk and hardcore much the way bands like Death By Stereo, Thrice, Rise Against, Strongarm, Stretch Arm Strong, were doing more than a decade ago. It’s that old school inspired sound that keeps it interesting and yet current enough to keep it from being boring. These guys are spirit filled and certainly aren’t ashamed to say so. So check out this new album and also make sure you download the Strongarm “cover” of “Stand Together” right here.

New Sounds: Mercy Street – Let Me Live

mercystreetletmelive

Former Rufio singer, Scott Sellers, starts new band called Mercy Street and completely blows the lid off the pop punk genre. What his band had accomplished in the past decade with Rufio is turned up to 11 on this new full length under the Mercy Street name, and then some. Picking right up where Rufio left off on their last proper full length “Anybody Out There” but heading in a more edgy, less “commercial” direction. Songs like “Building Tolerance”, “Out of the Question”, “Guilty Conscience”, “Caught by the Wind”, “Die Young”, and the great closer “We See the Ending”, show the band at their strongest, most captivating. This band hits you over the head with a two ton hammer of alluring pop-punk and doesn’t relent for the entirety of “Let Me Live”. If you’ve been on the hunt for a straight forward, fast, and melodic, slightly aggressive, pop punk record with a bite, look no further than Scott and his band or ruffians called Mercy Street. Recommended for fans of old Slick Shoes, Rufio, old old AFI, New Found Glory, Much the Same. Listen here:
